I've been ...Amanda,

Thanks for checking out my vlog! I've been a huge fan of yours since I was first introduced to this vlogosphere. I actually believe yours was one of the first 3 that I ever saw. I'll try a new compression on today's (Thursday October 27, 2005) entry. I'll kick up the kbs rate and see how the quality changes. I truly appreciate the suggestions. My first video and one other I tried at a lower kbs rate and they didnt' come out as well as I had hoped. I've never been completely happy with the video quality of the others but having heard from you and brett, I'll try another setting in Compressor 2.Lynn Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08316728635213946723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17290478.post-1130387045606964152005-10-27T00:24:00.000-04:002005-10-27T00:24:00.000-04:00Awesome vids, Lynn. Brett is right about the compression though... gotta fix that. Looking forward to the next one!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09329658589231271794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17290478.post-1130365250791338112005-10-26T18:20:00.000-04:002005-10-26T18:20:00.000-04:00Brett...Thanks for stopping in and checking this o...Brett...

Thanks for stopping in and checking this out! I know what you mean when you say that docs are hard work and usually best saved for the office. I guess I am kind of a guy who is stuck in doc mode for the most part though and my vlog is an extension of my other work.

I was truly a "cinema verite" style docmaker before making more arthouse style films. Now my projects take on more of an arc within the story. I am never on the camera to this point. In the future, I may be on some of my vlog videos but never on my other films. (I know, never say never...lol)

I kept the quality at 300kbs compression on Quicktime 7 coming through compressor 2 because I was worried about slower connection speeds of viewers. The videos themselves are crystal clear prior to compression but I just wanted to have a smaller file for people to be able to see. I'll drop a few videos soon with a higher kbs rate to see the difference. Thanks for that suggestion!Lynn Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08316728635213946723noreply@blogger.com
